Storage of Pre-Packaged Foods
What do I need to do to store pre-packaged foods like beans and rice, and noodles?
You didn't mention whether you plan to store them short-term or long-term.
Defining short-term would be storage, as in the cupboard or pantry, for 3 months to a year.
Long-term food storage would be up to 30 years, depending on the product and if it is properly packed for long-term storage.
Heat, moisture and light are the enemies of food causing deterioration and loss of nutrients.
So if you're just buying small packages of beans, rice and noodles - just use them in everyday cooking and keep them dry and put away in a cupboard. They will be fine until used up.
