Storing Dehyrated Fruit

I dry a lot of apples and pineapple and give as gifts. I try to get a head of the game. Do I need to add oxygen absorbers to my dried fruit? I usually put them in freezer bags and in the freezer until I am ready to use them.
If you always keep them in the freezer, then no O2 absorbers are necessary.
I dry mine until they are crisp, then vacuum seal them with my FoodSaver. Done this way, they can be kept in a cool, dry, dark place with the rest of the food storage.
If they are not vacuum sealed and you want to keep them just on a shelf somewhere, then they would need to be packed with O2 absorbers in an air tight container.
