Avoid Tasteless Hamburger When Dehydrating

by Vernon Christopher

Fantastic info. I do a lot of dehydrating. One of the things I have noticed is many foods are in sealed foil bags. These are mylar bags. Other foods are vacuum-sealed in jars. Oxygen is one of the items that cause food to go "bad". Many people wash the fat out of hamburger. This causes tastelessness. Drain the hamburger, pat dry with a paper towel. Then dehydrate.

Using Rice in Teabags
I have some drawstring teabags (disposable), and I fill one with dry rice for each jar to keep stuff dry.
