Using Canning Jars to Store Sugar

What about just using canning jars to store brown sugar and confectioners sugar to get it out of the plastic bags it comes in now? Thanks.

That would be just fine. No need to seal them or use oxygen absorbers. In fact, it would be better than saving them in plastic, especially for long term storage.
