Gas ranges are good to have even the modern ones we have today. I have a gas range with electronic ignition, and if the burner does not light, I use a match. Light match first turn gas on, when lit put match out. I'm unsure how I would light the oven, but don't think I would want or need to. I'll just use my dutch oven on top the range.

You should also have another cooking choice. We had our town flooded one time back in 1977. Gas line was fractured during clean up and they turned the gas off for a week to the entire neighborhood.
